Overseas Scholarship Scheme for the year 2026–27: Applications are invited under this scheme from minority Muslim students planning to pursue postgraduate studies abroad in the academic year 2026–2027. To facilitate high-quality global educational opportunities, global study programs, and international student loans, the state government will provide a lucrative educational scholarship of up to a maximum of Rs. 36.00 Lakhs per student for selected 10 Muslim students pursuing masters or doctoral studies overseas.

Number Of Scholarships:

• A total of 10 Muslim students will be selected for the 2026–2027 academic year. 

Duration of  Scholarship:

• The scholarship covers a 2-year Master level course.

Scholarship Amount:

• Financial assistance provided up to a maximum of Rs.36.00/- Lakhs per student.

Courses and Fields of Study are Eligible under this scheme:

Scholarships are available for postgraduate programs in the following streams:

• Engineering and Management
• Pure Science and Applied Science
• Agricultural Science and Medicine 
• International Commerce, Economics, Accounting Finance 
• Humanities, Social Science, Fine Arts and Law.

Eligibility Criteria:

• For Post Graduate courses 60% marks or equivalent grade in foundation Degree in Engineering / Management / pure Sciences / Agriculture Sciences / Medicine & Nursing / Social Sciences / Humanities.
• Candidates must have obtained an unconditionat offer of admission letter from foreign Universities / Institutions that are ranked within the top 250 of the latest overall Global QS (Quacquareili symonds) rankings.
• Not more than 30 years of age on the first day of April of the respective selection year for PG Courses.
• Total annual family income from all sources must not exceed Rs.8.00 Lakhs. The income certificate must be issued by a Zonal Deputy Tahsildar of the State Government.

Payment Of Scholarship:

• The Scholarship will consist of two components:
• Component-1: Tuition Fees payable by the student every year 
• Component-2: Living expenses / Visa fees / Medical insurance premium / Air Fare at the beginning and end of the course in economy class / equipment allowance / Tax as applicable.

How to Apply for Cultural Talent Scholarship Scheme?

• Candidates must download the application form from the official website at www.bcmbcmw.tn.gov.in/welfschemesminorities.htm. The filled-in application form, along with all the required supporting documents, must be submitted by post to the Commissioner, Directorate of Minorities Welfare, Kalas Mahal Heritage Building (First Floor), Chepauk, Chennai – 600 005 on or before October 15, 2026.
