Mayiladuthurai DHS Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification for Mayiladuthurai DHS: (As on 11.09.2026)

• Multi-Purpose Health Worker (Male) / Health Inspector Gr.II –
  • Qualification: Must have passed +2 with Biology or Botany and Zoology. Must have passed Tamil language as a subject in S.S.L.C level. Must possess two years Multi-Purpose Health Worker (Male) / Health Inspector / Sanitary Inspector Course training offered by recognized Private Institutions / Trust / Universities / Deemed Universities, including Gandhigram Rural Institute training course, with certificate granted by the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. 
• Integrated Counselling Testing Centre – Counsellor –
  • Qualification: Graduate degree in Psychology / Social Work / Sociology / Anthropology / Human Development OR Diploma in Nursing with minimum 3 years of experience in HIV/AIDS. Candidates recruited from communities of people infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS may be considered with any graduation or Diploma in Nursing if they have a minimum 1 year of experience in HIV/AIDS. 
  • Desirable: Postgraduate degree in Psychology (MA/MSc) or Social Work. Counsellor needs to undergo integrated induction and refresher training as per NACO Guidelines. 
• Reproductive Maternal New Born Child Health – Counsellor –
  • Qualification: UG/PG in Social Work / Hospital & Health Management/ Public Administration / Psychology / Home Science.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of work experience in the Health Sector / relevant 
  • field Other: Basic Computer Skills 
• Auxiliary Nurse Midwife –
  • Qualification: Must have passed Higher Secondary (+2). Must have undergone two years Multi-Purpose Health Workers (Female) training course / Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery Training Course awarded by the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. A certificate of registration issued by the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council. 
• National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme – Lab Technician-
  • Qualification: Twelfth (10+2) and 2 Years Diploma course in Medical Laboratory Technology recognized by DME. 
• Therapeutic Assistant –
  • Qualification: Diploma in Nursing Therapy (D.N.T.) – 2-year course approved by the Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy. 
• NRHM – Therapeutic Assistant –
  • Qualification: Diploma in Nursing Therapy (D.N.T.) – 2-year course approved by the Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy. 
• NRHM – Dispenser (Unani) –
  • Qualification: D.Pharm (AYUSH) from a Government or approved Indian Medicine Institution affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
