CMRL Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification for CMRL: (As on 23.09.2026)

• Joint General Manager (Project Management Information System) – 
  • Qualification: Must be a B.E / B.Tech in (Civil) from a Govt. recognized Institute / University approved by AICTE/UGC. Post graduation in a relevant field is desirable.
  • Applicant from Govt Organization: The Applicant should be an officer working in Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) in Railways/Equivalent in GoI or officer working in Executive Engineer (EE) cadre in State Govt organizations with minimum 15yrs of post qualification executive experience. 
  • Applicant from Metros / PSUs Organization: The Applicant should possess a minimum 15 years of post qualification executive experience and should have worked at least 4 years as DGM in the IDA pay scale of Rs. 80000 – 220000 or equivalent pay. 
  • Applicant from Private Sector: The Applicant should possess a minimum 15 years of post qualification executive experience and should have worked at least 04 years in senior management positions (equivalent to DGM in PSU) and reporting to top management.
• Joint General Manager (Rolling Stock) – 
  • Qualification: Must be a B.E / B. Tech (ECE/EEE) graduate from a Govt. recognized Institute / University, approved by AICTE / UGC.
  • Applicant from Govt Organization: The Applicant should be an officer working in Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) in Railways/Equivalent in GoI or officer working in Executive Engineer (EE) cadre in State Govt organizations with minimum 15yrs of post qualification executive experience. 
  • Applicant from Metros / PSUs Organization: The Applicant should possess a minimum 15 years of post qualification executive experience and should have worked at least 4 years as DGM in the IDA pay scale of Rs. 80000 – 220000 or equivalent pay. 
  • Applicant from Private Sector: The Applicant should possess a minimum 15 years of post qualification executive experience and should have worked at least 04 years in senior management positions (equivalent to DGM in PSU) and reporting to top management.
• Deputy General Manager (Finance & Accounts) – 
  • Qualification: Must be a Graduate / Post-graduate from a recognized Institute / University approved by AICTE / UGC with CA / CMA
  • Applicant from Govt Organization: The Applicant should be an officer having 03 yrs of service in Senior Time Scale (STS) in Railways / Equivalent in GoI or officer working in Chief Accounts Officer (CAO) cadre in State Govt organizations with minimum 13yrs of post qualification executive experience. 
  • Applicant from Metros / PSUs Organization: The Applicant should possess a minimum 13 years of post qualification executive experience and should have worked at least 04 years as Manager in the IDA pay scale of Rs. 70000 – 200000 or equivalent pay. 
  • Applicant from Private Sector The Applicant should possess a minimum 13 years of post qualification executive experience and should have worked at least 04 years in middle management positions (equivalent to Manager in PSU) and reporting to senior management.
• Manager (Finance & Accounts) – 
  • Qualification: Must be a Graduate / Post-graduate from a recognized Institute / University approved by AICTE / UGC with CA / CMA
  • Applicant from Govt Organization: The Applicant should be an officer working in Senior Time Scale (STS) in Railways/Equivalent in GoI or officer working in Accounts officer cadre in State Govt organizations with 07yrs of post qualification executive experience. 
  • Applicant from Metros / PSUs Organization: The Applicant should possess a minimum 07 years of post qualification executive experience and should have worked at least 04 years as DM in the IDA pay scale of Rs. 60000 – 180000 or equivalent pay. 
  • Applicant from Private Sector: The Applicant should possess a minimum 07 years of post qualification executive experience and should have worked at least 04 years in Middle management positions (equivalent to DM in PSU) and reporting to senior management.

  • Applicant from Metros / PSUs Organization: The Applicant should possess a minimum 02 years of post qualification executive experience or should have worked 10 years of post qualification experience in the IDA pay scale of Rs. 33000 – 100000 and above or equivalent pay. 
  • Applicant from Private Sector: The Applicant should possess a minimum 02 years of post qualification executive experience in Junior management positions (equivalent to an executive grade in PSU) and reporting to Senior/Middle management.
• Assistant Manager (Transport Planning) – 
  • Qualification: Must be a M. E / M. Tech (Transportation Planning / Transportation Engineering / Traffic Engineering / Urban Engineering) from a Govt. recognized Institute / University, approved by AICTE /UGC.
  • Applicant from Govt Organization: The Applicant should be an officer working as Assistant Engineer or 5 years service as Senior Section Engineer (SSE) in Railways/Equivalent in GoI or officer working as Assistant Engineer (AE) cadre in State Govt organizations.
