Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

1. General Duty (GD)
(i) Should hold a degree of recognised university with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
2. Commercial Pilot Licence -Short Service Appointment (CPL-SSA)* –
(i) Should have passed 12th class or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed diploma are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
(ii) Should possess current Commercial Pilot Licence issued/ validated by Director General Civil Aviation on the date of submission of application.
3. Technical (Mechanical) –
(i) Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
4. Technical (Electrical/ Electronics) –
(i) Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. 5. Law Entry – A degree in Law from a recognized university with minimum 60% aggregate marks

Age Limit:

1. General Duty (GD) – 21-25 years as on 01 Jul 2023 i.e. born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/Air Force)
2. Commercial Pilot Licence -Short Service Appointment (CPL-SSA)* – 19-25 years as on 01 Jul 2023 i.e. born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2004 (Both dates inclusive).
3. Technical (Mechanical) – 21-25 years as on 01 Jul 2023 i.e. born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)
4. Technical (Electrical/ Electronics) – 21-25 years as on 01 Jul 2023 i.e. born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)
5. Law Entry – 21-30 years as on 01 Jul 2023 i.e. born between 01 Jul 1993 & 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/ Air Force)

Salary Details:

The promotions to the ranks will be as per the laid down promotion criteria. The pay scales for the various ranks as per the 7th CPC are as follows:-

Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Selection Process 2023:

Indian Coast Guard may follow the following process to select the candidates.

1. Stage-I (CGCAT)
2. Stage-II {Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)}
3. Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB)
4. Stage-IV (Medical Examination)
5. Stage-V (Induction)
Based on the performance in the Stage-I, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Stage-II (PSB)which will be conducted for a day at Noida, Mumbai/Goa, Chennai and Kolkata centres.

Application Fee/Exam Fee for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant: 

All candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only) through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/ Master/ Maestro/ RuPay/ Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI. Admit card will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee or who are entitled for waiver of examination fee.

Indian Coast Guard MTS & Store Keeper Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:  

1. Store Keeper Grade II
Educational Qualification – 12th pass from recognized Board or University.
Experience – One year’s experience in handling stores from any recognized firm or Central or State Govt organization or Public Sector Undertakings.
2. Engine Driver –
Educational Qualification: Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent and Certificate of competency as Engine Driver from are cognized Govt. Institute or equivalent.
Desirable – 02 year service as Sarang on a vessel of over four hundred Boat Horse power.
3. Draughtsman –
Educational Qualification: Diploma in Civil or Electrical or Mechanical or Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture and Ship construction from a recognized University or institution or certificate in Draughtsmanship in any of the above said disciplines from an Industrial training institute.
Desirable: One year experience in the concerned field viz Civil or Electrical or Mechanical or Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture and Ship Construction in Government or statutory or autonomous Organisation, Public Sector Undertaking or University or private organization of repute.
4. Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade) –
Educational Qualification:
(i) 10th standard pass.
(ii) Must possess valid driving license for both heavy and light motor vehicles.
(iii) Knowledge of motor mechanism (should be able to remove minor defects in vehicles).
Experience: Should have at least two years experience in driving motor vehicles.
5. Forklift Operator –
Educational Qualification:
(i) Certificate in the respective trade from ITI or other recognised Institutions with not less than one year experience in the trade or 3 years experience in the trade for which no training is available in ITI or other recognised institutions.
(ii) Should possess heavy duty vehicle driving license.
Desirable –
(i) Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards.
(ii) Knowledge in English.
6. Welder (Skilled) –
Educational Qualification / Experience:
(i) Matriculation or equivalent.
(ii) Should have successfully completed apprenticeship from a recognized / reputed workshop in the relevant trade under Apprentice Act 1961 or under any other recognized Apprenticeship Scheme or Should have completed training course in the relevant trade from an ITI recognised for this purpose and have one year Trade experience or four years experience in the trade for which no training is available in the Industrial Training Institute or other recognized institutions.
(iii) Should qualify a trade entrance examination.
7. Lascar –
Educational Qualification/ Experience:
(i) Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards.
(ii) Three years experience in service on Boat.
8. MTS (Peon) –
Educational Qualification/ Experience:
(i) Matriculation or equivalent pass.
(ii) Two years experience as office attendant.
9. MTS (Sweeper) –
Educational Qualification/ Experience :
(i) Matriculation or equivalent pass.
(ii) Two years experience in cleanship in any recognized firm.
10. Unskilled Labourer –
Educational Qualification/ Experience: Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards or ITI from recognized institutes. Three years experience in the trade.
