BSI Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification for BSI: (As on 25.03.2026)
- RA-III –
- Essential Qualification: a. Ph.D in Plant Taxonomy b. 5 years exp. working with flora in Sikkim Alpine region (Identification & documentation) evidence with publications. c. At least 3 publications in SCI journals.
- Desirable Qualification: 1. 10 years’ field experience working with Flora of Sikkim Himalaya evidence with publications.
- Junior Project Fellow –
- Essential Qualification: M.Sc. Botany: Plant Taxonomy/ Ecology
- Desirable Qualification: Experience gathering plant taxonomy and ecology data in the field
- Field Assistant –
- Essential Qualification: B.Sc. in Botany/ Life Sciences
- Desirable Qualification: Field work experience in Sikkim, Himalaya. Proficiency in gathering plants, preparing herbariums, and compiling data
Age Limit for BSI:
- RA-III – 45 years
- Junior Project Fellow – 28 years
- Field Assistant – 50 years
Pay Scale for BSI:
- RA-III – Rs. 67,000/- + 10% HRA
- Junior Project Fellow – Rs. 24,000/- + 10% HRA
