The Union Public Service Commission has officially released a massive 2026 recruitment Notification (05/2026) to fill 194  Scientist-B, Airworthiness Officer, Assistant Director, Research Officer, Assistant Controller, Deputy Controller of Explosive, Junior Technical Officer, Manager, Scientific Officer, Deputy Superintending Archaeological Engineer, Lecturer vacancies. UPSC Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification for UPSC: 

  1. Airworthiness Officer
    • Essential Qualification: (i) Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Mathematics or Aircraft Maintenance or Engineering Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication from a recognized University; and (ii) Possess a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s (AME) License endorsed in either of the Categories B1 or B2 issued by Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Note: Person holding Engineering Degree in Aeronautical may be considered without possessing a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s (AME) License. 
    • Experience: Minimum Three (03) years of Aircraft Maintenance Experience
  2. Deputy Controller of Explosive
    • Essential Qualification: Degree in Chemical Engineering/Technology or Master’s Degree in Chemistry from a recognized University or Institute.
    • Experience: Three years’ Experience in Chemical works or in manufacture and handling of explosives and/or in compressed gases and/or refining of Petroleum. 
  3. Manager
    • Essential Qualification: (i) Bachelor of Engineering /Bachelor of Technology in mechanical or Automobile Engineering from a recognized University/Institute. (ii) Three years’ Experience, in operation of Motor Transport Traffic in a Govt./Semi Govt./PSU/Commercial Organization listed on the stock exchange(s) of India. 
    • Desirable Qualification: Master of Engineering/Master of Technology in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
  4. Junior Technical Officer
    • Essential Qualification: (a) (i) Bachelor of Technology (Oil Technology) or Bachelor of Engineering (Oil Technology) from a recognized University or Institute; OR (ii) Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Post-Graduate Diploma in Sugar Technology from a recognized University or Institute; and (b) One years’ Experience in Sugar Technology or Edible Oils from a recognized institute or organization. 
    • Desirable Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Post Graduate Degree in Oil Technology from a recognized University or Institute. 
  5. Junior Technical Officer (Chemical Engineering)
    • Essential Qualification: (i) Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute. (ii) Three years’ research or practical or teaching Experience in the field of Chemical Engineering from College/University/institute/Autonomous body or Statutory body recognized by the Central Government or State Government; OR Three years’ Experience in designing or operation of Sugar factory, Distillery or Chemical Plant. 
    • Desirable Qualification: Three years’ Experience of working in Sugar and allied Industry or Chemical plant at supervisory or higher position. 
  6. Scientific Officer (Mechanical)
    • Essential Qualification: (i) Master’s Degree in Physics or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Degree in Metallurgy from a recognized University or Institute. (ii) One Year’s Experience in Mechanical testing Laboratory or One Years’ Experience in Research and Development in allied field.
  7. Deputy Superintending Archaeological Engineer
    • Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or Institute.
    • Experience: Three years’ Experience in planning, execution and maintenance of civil engineering works in Government Sector or any recognised Archaeological or heritage site.
  8. Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering (Power System)
    • Essential Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering and Master of Engineering/Master of Technology in Electrical Engineering {Power System/Electrical Engineering (Electronics & Power)/Electrical Instrumentation and Control Engineering/ Electrical Power & Energy systems/ Electrical Power Engineering/Electrical Power System/ High Voltage and Power Systems Engineering/ Power Electronics/ Power Electronics and Power Systems/Power Electronics and Systems/ Power Electronics Engineering/ Power System and Control/ Power System and Control Automation/ Power System with Emphasis H. V. Engineering/ Power System and Automation/ Power Systems and Power Electronics/ Power Systems Control and Automation Engineering/ Power Systems Engineering} with first class or equivalent either in Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology or Master of Engineering/Master of Technology and Doctor of Philosophy in the discipline of Electrical Engineering.
    • Experience: Minimum five years’ Experience in Teaching or Research or industry of which two years post Doctor of Philosophy Experience is desirable.
  9. Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering (Heat Transfer)
    • Essential Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Engineering/ Master of Technology in Mechanical Engineering (Heat & Power/ Heat Power & Thermal Engineering/ Heat Power Engineering /Thermal Engineering/Thermal & Fluid Engineering/Thermal Power Engineering/Thermal Science/Thermal Science Engineering/ Heat Ventilation & Air Conditioning/Power Plant Engineering & Energy Management/ Thermal Science and Energy Systems/Thermal System and Design) with First Class or equivalent either in Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology or Master of Engineering/ Master of Technology and Doctor of Philosophy in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering.
    • Experience: Minimum five years’ Experience in Teaching or Research or industry of which two years post Doctor of Philosophy Experience is desirable. 
  10.  Lecturer (Persian Language)
    • Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Persian language from a recognised University or Institution.
    • Experience: One year Experience in teaching or translation from Persian language to English or Hindi or vice-versa. 
    • Desirable Qualification: Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Persian languages from a recognized university.
  11.  Lecturer (Tibetan Language)
    • Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Tibetan language from a recognised University or Institution.
    • Experience: One year Experience in teaching or translation from Tibetan language to English or Hindi or vice-versa. 
    • Desirable Qualification: Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Tibetan language from a recognized university.
  12.  Scientist-B (Atmospheric Sciences)
    • Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Engineering and Technology from a recognized University or Institute in the following streams or subjects: i) Atmospheric Sciences ii) Ocean Science iii) Hydrology iv) Atmospheric Physics v) Atmospheric Ocean Science and Technology vi) Radar and Microwave Engineering
  13.  Scientist-B (General Meteorology)
    • Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Science from a recognized University or Institute in any of the following streams or subjects: i) Mathematics ii) Physics iii) Atmospheric Science or Physics iv) Meteorology
  14.  Scientist-B (Instrumentation)
    • ​​Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or Institute in the following streams or subjects: i) Electronic and Communication Engineering ii) Mechanical Engineering iii) Information Technology iv) Instrumentation and Technology v) Mechatronics vi) Electrical Engineering vii) Computer Science 
  15. Deputy Director (Civil Engineering)
    • Essential Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering of a recognised University or Institute; or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering of a recognised University or Institute.
    • Experience: (i) For Bachelor degree holder- Four years’ Experience in harbour projects and design of maritime structures in any government department or organisation. (ii) For Master’s degree holder- Two years’ Experience in harbour projects and design of maritime structures in any government department or organisation. 
    • Desirable Qualification: Master’s Degree in Coastal and Harbor Engineering or Ocean Engineering or Marine Engineering of a recognised University or Institute. 
  16. Joint Assistant Director
    • Essential Qualification: B.Tech. or BE or B.Sc. (Engnr.) degree in Electronics or Electronics and Telecommunication or Electronics and Communication or Information Technology or Computer Science or Information and Communication Technology or Electrical Engineering with Telecommunication as a special subject from a recognised University or Institute. OR Master degree in Electronics or Computer Science or Information Technology or Artificial Intelligence or Physics with Electronics or Communication or Wireless or Radio subjects as specialization from a recognized University or Institute. 
    • Desirable Qualification: Candidates should ideally possess three years of professional experience in areas such as Radio, Computer, or Satellite Communication, Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, or Cyber Security. This experience should be gained within a State or Central Government department, a Union Territory administration, a Public Sector Undertaking, or a Statutory/Autonomous body.
  17. Assistant Executive Engineer
    • Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Drilling or Mining or Mechanical or Electrical or Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering or Petroleum Technology from a recognized University or Institute.
    • Experience: Two years’ Experience in operation or maintenance and repair of different types of Drilling Rigs or construction of different types of Tube wells or Ground Water Development and Management.
  18. Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mining)
    • Essential Qualification: (i) Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized university or Institution or pass in Section A and B of the Associate Membership examination in Mining Engineering Branch from the Institution of Engineers (India) incorporated by the Royal Charter, 1935. (ii) First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate granted under the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 (Unrestricted) or under the Metalliferous Mines Regulations, 1961 (Unrestricted)
    • Experience: Ten Years’ Experience in mining in large and mechanized underground Mines.
  19. Assistant Director Grade-I (IEDS) (Chemical)
    • Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry or Bachelor Degree in Chemical Technology or Chemical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
  20. Assistant Director Grade-II (IEDS) (Chemical)
    • Essential Qualification: Master Degree in Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry or Bachelor Degree in Chemical Technology or Chemical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

  28. Assistant Controller of Mines
    • Essential Qualification: (A) (i) Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution; (ii) Three years’ Experience in Core Mining activity in:- (a) Managerial position in Metalliferous (Non-Coal) mines which includes the period as graduate or management or junior trainee engineer; OR (b) Government Department dealing with mines and Minerals in level-7 in the pay matrix (Rs. 44900-142400) or above.
  29. Research Officer
    • Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree from a recognized University or Institution in Social Work or Sociology or Economics or Anthropology or Social Anthropology or Applied Anthropology or Statistics or Psychology or Geography or Mathematics (With Statistics). 
    • Desirable Qualification: Two years’ Experience of conducting survey or research in the field of social welfare including analysis of data and preparation of reports. 
  30. Assistant Director/ Registering Officer
    • Essential Qualification: (i) Master’s Degree in History from a recognized university or institute; (ii) Degree or Diploma in Archaeology or Museology or Museum Studies or Archives from a recognized University or Institute  
  31. Driller
    • Essential Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
