The Pondicherry University has released its latest official recruitment notification (Advt. No. PU/RC/NT/2026/51) to fill the 18 Non Teaching Posts.The online application portal at the official website (https://www.pondiuni.edu.in/) will remain active from 10.03.2026 to 10.04.2026. Before submitting an application, candidates must carefully read the Pondicherry University Non Teaching 2026 notification and verify their eligibility.

Eligible candidates with qualifications Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree can apply online. Candidates should note that the primary work locations for these posts are Puducherry. Registered candidates will receive a link to download their exam hall tickets via email approximately 4 to 7 days prior to the examination date.

Pondicherry University Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification for Pondicherry University: 

  1. Deputy Registrar – 
    • Essential Qualifications:
      • Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.
      • Five years of experience as Assistant Registrar or in equivalent post in the Pay Level 10 and above.
  2. Assistant Registrar – 
    • Essential Qualifications: Master’s Degree with at least Fifty Percentage of the marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed. 
  3. Public Relation Officer – 
    • Essential Qualifications:
      • Masters’ Degree with at least 55% of marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC 7 point scale in Journalism and Mass Communication from recognised University / Institute.
      • At least Five years experience with ABC, National News Agencies, Radio or Television, Film Media, reputed advertising agencies with excellent command of speaking in English, Hindi and Regional Language. 
    • Desirable: Good working knowledge of computer applications.
  4. Section Officer – 
    • Essential Qualifications:
      • A Bachelor’s Degree in any Stream from any accredited Institute/ University.
      • Three Years’ Experience as Senior Assistant in the Level 6 or eight years as Assistant/UDC in Level 4 in any Central / State Govt./ University/ PSU and other Central or State Autonomous Institutions or holding equivalent positions in any reputed Private companies/ bank with annual turnover of at least Rs.200/- Crores or more.
      • Proficiency in Computer Operation, noting and drafting.
  5. Private Secretary – 
    • Qualifications:
      • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University/Institute.
      • At least Three Years experience as Personal Assistant (PA) or Five years as Stenographer in a University/ Research establishment/ Central/ State Govt. /PSU and other autonomous bodies.
      • English/Hindi Stenography speed: 100 wpm in Hindi or 120 wpm in English
      • English/Hindi Typing speed: 30 w.p.m.in Hindi or  35 w.p.m. in English (v) Knowledge of computer applications. 
    • Skill Test Norms on Computer: Dictation: 10 minutes @ 120 w.p.m. in English/100 w.p.m. in Hindi Transcription: 50 minutes (English)/ 60 minutes (Hindi) 
    • Desirable: Proficiency in English & good communication skills.

Age Limit for Pondicherry University: (As on 10.04.2026)

  1. Deputy Registrar – 50 Years
  2. Assistant Registrar – 40 Years
  3. Public Relation Officer – 40 Years
  4. Section Officer – 35 Years
  5. Private Secretary – 35 Years

Relaxation of Upper age limit: 

  • 5 Years for SC / ST  
  • 3 Years for OBC (NCL)  
  • Persons with Disabilities candidate:
    • By 10 Years for General (UR)  
    • By 13 Years for OBC (NCL)  
    • By 15 Years for SC / ST
  • Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen category candidates is as per extant Govt. of India guidelines.

  1. Deputy Registrar – Level 12
