ECGC Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification for ECGC: (As on 02.12.2025)
- Probationary Officers (Generalists) –
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Graduate in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.
- Probationary Officers (Specialists) –
- (i) Master’s degree in Hindi /Hindi Translation, with English as core/Elective/Major subject at the Bachelor’s Degree level with minimum 55% for SC/ST and 60% for others from a recognized University OR
- (ii) Master’s degree in English with Hindi as core/elective/major subject at the bachelor’s degree level with minimum 55%for SC/ST and 60% for others from a recognized University. OR
- (iii) Master’s degree in any discipline with English and Hindi as core/elective/major subjects at the bachelor’s degree level with minimum 55%for SC/ST and 60% for others from a recognized University. OR
- (iv) Master’s degree in both English and Hindi/Hindi translation with minimum 55%for SC/ST and 60% for others from a recognized University.
Age Limit for ECGC: (As on 02.12.2025)
- Probationary Officers – Minimum: 21 years, Maximum: 30 years (A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.11.1995 and not later than 01.11.2004 (both the dates inclusive))
Relaxation of Upper age limit:
- For SC/ ST Applicants: +5 years
- For OBC Applicants: +3 years
- For PwBD (Gen/ EWS) Applicants: +10 years
- For PwBD (SC/ ST) Applicants: +15 years
