Allocation Of Seats:
The selection will be made based on merit and applying the rule of reservation by the Government of Tamil Nadu as follows:-
- Open Competition – 31.00 %
- Backward Class – 30%
- Most Backward Community – 20 %
- Scheduled Caste – 18.00%
- Scheduled Tribe – 1.00 %
Note: Within 30% reservation for BC, 3.5% reservation will be provided for BC Muslims.
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates should have studied “Tamil” as the first language.
- Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board / any other equivalent Board in the following group of subjects:-
- i. 65% of the seats will be filled up with candidates in the following subjects:-
- A. Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject.
- B. Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology.
- ii. 25% of the seats will be filled up with candidates in the following subjects:-
- A. Vocational Nursing. (or)
- B. Foundation Science as Vocational subject.
- iii. 10% of the seats will be filled with candidates in the subject not specified in items (i) and (ii) above.
- a) If adequate number of eligible candidates are not available in items (ii) and (iii), the seats will be reverted back to item (i).
- b) Candidates who have passed the HSC in Open Schooling are eligible to apply for Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery course.
- i. 65% of the seats will be filled up with candidates in the following subjects:-
Minimum Eligibility Marks: –
- For OC, BC, BCM & MBC / DNC candidates: A pass in HSC with 40% of aggregate of marks.
- For SC / SCA / ST candidates: A pass in Higher Secondary Course.
Age Limit:
Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December 2026. (Those who were born few days later can also be included, i.e. maximum 15 days)
