CSIR AMPRI Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification for CSIR AMPRI: 

  1. Senior Scientist – SS-01 – 
    • Education Qualification:M.E. / M.Tech. in the area of Metallurgy / Materials Science / Mechanical / Advanced Manufacturing or equivalent with 3 years of experience. OR Ph.D. in Materials Science or equivalent with 2 years OR Ph.D. in Engineering in the area of Metallurgy / Materials Science / Mechanical Engineering / Advanced Manufacturing or equivalent.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in metal additive manufacturing (AM) of advanced alloys (Ti, Ni, Al, refractory, ODS, graphene-reinforced).  Experience in generative design, AI/ML modelling for AM.  Experience with powder production, microstructural characterization (SEM, TEM, APT).  Publications/patents in AM and alloy development.  R&D experience (postPh.D.) and demonstrated capability in project leadership/ technology translation.
  2. Senior Scientist – SS-02 – 
    • Education Qualification:M.E./M.Tech. in Computational Science/ Artificial Intelligence/Data Science/ Computational Engineering or equivalent with 3 years experience OR Ph.D. in Computational Materials Science/ Computational Physics or equivalent with 2 years experience OR Ph.D. in Engineering computational disciplines or equivalent  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in AI/ Machine Learning (AI/ML) techniques for materials property prediction, materials discovery, or reaction mechanism investigation (Materials Informatics).  Experience in HighPerformance Computing (HPC), Parallel computing, or cloud-based scientific computing.  Expertise in Computational Materials modeling, first-principles methods such as Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Molecular Dynamics (MD), and/or classical force fields.  Experience in coding and scripting (e.g., Python/ MATLAB) and working with simulation software.
  3. Senior Scientist – SS-03 – 
    • Education Qualification:B.Tech/M.Sc with MBA or Post Graduate degree in IP Law, with three years’ experience OR M.E./M.Tech. with three years of Experience in technology management, IP and business development. OR Ph.D. in Engineering/ Management OR Ph.D. in Science with two years of experience in technology management, IP and business development.  PhD(Management) with Science/Engineering background.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in intellectual property management (patent drafting, analysis, IP law).  Experience in technology transfer, industry partnerships, business development and MoU/ToT negotiations.  Experience with project evaluation, monitoring tools, budgeting, and impact assessment frameworks.
  4. Scientist – ES-01 – 
    • Education Qualification:M.Tech./ME in Materials Science & Engineering or equivalent OR PhD submitted in the area of radiation physics, polymers, or materials chemistry or equivalent.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in synthesis and characterization of materials, polymers and applications  Experience in industrial waste valorization, pilotscale product development.  Experience in polymers/ materials characterization/ testing methods.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  5. Scientist – ES-02 – 
    • Education Qualification:M.Tech./ME in Instrumentation /Electronics or equivalent OR PhD submitted in the area of remote sensing / applied acoustics / instrumentation or equivalent.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in acoustical materials testing, building acoustics.  Experience in electrochemical/ environmental sensor systems.  Experience with design, calibration, and data analytics of environmental monitoring devices.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  6. Scientist – ES-03 – 
    • Education Qualification:M.E./M.Tech. in the area of Design / Thermal / Manufacturing / Metallurgy or equivalent OR Ph.D. submitted in Metallurgical Engineering /Mechanical Engineering / Materials Science / Computational Materials Engineering or equivalent  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in casting simulation software and CFD tools  Experience in thermodynamic feasibility (CALPHAD, Thermo-Calc) and phase diagram analysis, Finite Element and Boundary element methods  Experience in alloy/ composite design and microstructure-property correlation  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  7. Scientist – ES-04 – 
    • Education Qualification:M.E./M.Tech. in the area of Design / Thermal / Manufacturing / Production/ Metallurgy / Materials Engineering or equivalent OR Ph.D submitted in the area of dynamic behaviour of materials / metamaterials or equivalent  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in high strain rate testing (Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar, high-speed UTM, drop weight testing, crashworthiness analysis)  Experience in dynamic data acquisition and highspeed instrumentation  Experience in design and evaluation of metamaterials / foams for blast, crash and energy dissipation applications  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  8. Scientist – ES-05 – 
    • Education Qualification:M.E./M.Tech. in the area of Metallurgical / Materials / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent OR Ph.D. submitted in the area of alloy design and high temperature materials or equivalent.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in design, processing, and characterization of nonferrous alloys, superalloys, and composites.  Experience in high temperature processing techniques/ superalloys.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  9. Scientist – ES-06 – 
    • Education Qualification: M.E./M.Tech. in Civil/Construction/ Structural Engineering / Environmental Engineering or equivalent OR Ph.D. submitted in the area of sustainable construction materials or equivalent  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in Geopolymeric concrete mix design and performance evaluation (workability, strength, durability).  Experience in pilot plant demonstrations, large-scale applications (roads, railways, runways, structural components).  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  10. Scientist – ES-07 – 
    • Education Qualification: M.E./M.Tech.in Mechanical Engineering / Electronics & Communication / Instrumentation / Mechatronics / Robotics or equivalent OR Ph.D. submitted in Engineering/Applied Sciences in the area of device engineering, mechatronics, or intelligent systems or equivalent.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in CAD/CAE/CAM, FEM/FEA simulations, mechanical prototyping.  Experience in electronic system design, circuit analysis, PCB layout, sensor–actuator integration.  Experience in embedded control systems, robotics, automation, real-time instrumentation  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  11. Scientist – ES-08 – 
    • Education Qualification: M.E./M.Tech in the area of Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence / Data Science / Information Technology / Computational Materials or equivalent OR Ph.D submitted in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computational Engineering, or equivalent.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in machine learning, deep learning, time-series analysis, predictive modelling.  Experience in IoT systems, edge computing, and realtime AI deployment.  Experience in data acquisition from sensors, signal processing pipelines, and embedded AI systems.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  12. Scientist – ES-09 – 
    • Education Qualification: Ph.D submitted in Nanotechnology / Physics / Chemistry / Materials Science or equivalent  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in graphene, 2D materials, and device integration.  Experience in electrochemical synthesis, SEM/AFM/ECM techniques.  Device development experience: microsupercapacitors, batteries, optoelectronics, TRANSCAP.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  13. Scientist – ES-10 – 
    • Education Qualification: M.Tech. in Chemical Sciences / Environmental Engineering / Materials Science or equivalent. OR Ph.D. submitted in the area of Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Environmental Science / Materials Science or equivalent  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in thermochemical synthesis, process development for waste-to-material conversion  Experience in carbon footprint/life-cycle assessment (LCA) of developed processes.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  14. Scientist – ES-11 – 
    • Education Qualification: Ph.D. submitted in the area of Nanotechnology/ Quantum Mechanics/ Condensed Matter Physics/ Quantum Materials and Devices or equivalent.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in the synthesis of next-generation quantum materials (e.g., molecular beam epitaxy, CVD, crystal growth) and/or advanced low temperature and high-field characterization techniques.  Experience in quantum sensing devices (e.g., magnetometers, atomic clocks) or materials for qubit fabrication.  Experience in Quantum Computing software (e.g., Qiskit) and quantum algorithms.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  15. Scientist – ES-12 – 
    • Education Qualification: M.E./M.Tech. in the area of Metallurgy/ Materials Science/ Manufacturing/ Production Engineering or equivalent OR Ph.D. submitted in the area of Materials Science/ Metallurgy/ Physics/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent  Experience on high performance magnets / Magnetic Materials or permanent magnet fabrication/ processing.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in magnetic characterization techniques such as Vibrating Sample Magnetometry (VSM)/SQUID, along with structural and microstructural analysis using XRD and SEM.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  16. Scientist – ES-13 – 
    • Education Qualification: M.Tech./M.E. in the area of Mineral/ Chemical/ Materials/ Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent OR Ph.D. submitted in the area of electrochemical extraction or corrosion/ electrode processes or equivalent. 
    • Desirable qualification: Experience on Critical Minerals (CMs) or Rare Earth Elements (REEs) recovery.  Experience in electrochemical extraction and refining of rare earth/critical metals.  Experience with electrochemical cell design, analytical and characterization techniques.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  17. Scientist – ES-14 – 
    • Education Qualification: M.E./M.Tech. in the area of Chemical/ Materials/ Environmental Engineering or equivalent OR Ph.D. submitted in the area of Electrochemical Energy Storage or Advanced Functional Ceramics/ Polymers or equivalent.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in solid-state ionics, non-aqueous battery chemistry (Na/Znion), or material conversion from industrial/bio-waste sources.  Expertise in Solid-State Electrolyte synthesis (ceramic/polymer-ceramic composites) and/or synthesis of hard-carbon anodes.  Knowledge of Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) or techno-economic analysis for waste-derived materials.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  18. Scientist – ES-15 – 
    • Education Qualification: M.E./M.Tech. in the area of Polymer Science & Technology / Materials Science / Chemistry / Nanotechnology or equivalent OR Ph.D. submitted in Polymer Science & Technology / Materials Science / Chemistry / Nanotechnology or equivalent with a specialization in polymer composites or functional polymers.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in design and synthesis of sustainable polymers, polyelectrolytes, and polymer composites using sustainable/green chemistry approaches.  Experience in incorporation of advanced fillers (graphene, CNTs, MXenes, nanofibres) to tune mechanical, thermal, and ionic/electronic properties. Experience in electrochemical devices: batteries, supercapacitor  Experience in processing techniques for polymer membranes, films, and composite structures relevant to energy storage/conversion.  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  19. Scientist – ES-16 – 
    • Education Qualification: M.Tech. in the area of Materials / Metallurgy / Chemical / Energy Engineering or equivalent OR Ph.D. submitted in the area of hydrogen energy materials or nanomaterials or equivalent.  
    • Desirable qualification: Experience in advanced nanomaterial synthesis for Hydrogen storage, including graphene, MXenes, metal/alloy hydrides, and complex hydrides.  Experience in fuel cell integration & energy storage systems.  Experience with hydrogen storage analyzers (Sieverts setup, PCT isotherms etc).  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
  20. Scientist – ES-17 – 
    • Education Qualification: Ph.D. submitted in the area of Bio-based resources valorization or equivalent.
    • Desirable qualification: Experience on biomass resources characterization (analytical and spectroscopic)  Experience on the conversion of renewable carbon resources and structure-activity relationships  Above experiences must be evident from SCI publications/ patents.
