Age Limit:

Salary Details:
| Diploma Engineer Trainee: Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of 2 years at identified NTPC sites and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs.24,000/- per month. On successful completion of training, these candidates will be absorbed in the pay scale of Rs.24000/- (W7 grade). Annual Increment shall be @ 3% of Basic Pay. The final place of posting will be allocated after successful completion of the training. |
| ITI Trainee: Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of 2 years at identified NTPC sites and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs.21,500/- per month. On successful completion of training, these candidates will be absorbed in the pay scale of Rs.21500/- (W3 grade). Annual Increment shall be @ 3% of Basic Pay. The final place of posting will be allocated after successful completion of the training. |
NTPC Diploma Engineer Trainee Selection Process 2023:
| Diploma Engineer Trainees: Eligible candidates will have to undergo 2 stages of Online Test (Computer Based Test). 1st stage online test: In first stage, Online Aptitude Test (120 multiple questions) covering General English, Quantitative aptitude & Reasoning will be conducted. The duration of the test will be 2 hours. Each question carries 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer. There is qualifying marks (30% marks for ST/OBC/ PwBD nd candidates). The candidates will be shortlisted @ 1:10 for 2 stage Online Test (Technical). There will be no weightage to online aptitude test in final selection. 2nd stage online test: In 2nd stage, Online Technical Test (120 multiple questions) in respective discipline will be conducted. The duration of the test will be 2 hours. Each question carries 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer. There is qualifying marks (30% marks for ST/OBC/ PwBD candidates). Offer of appointment may be issued based on merit. No skill test will be conducted. ITI Trainees: Eligible candidates will have to undergo two hours objective type online written test. Based on the merit and requirement, the list of successful candidates for appearing in skill test will be made available at careers.ntpc.co.in and communication will also be sent to candidates through E-mail. All such shortlisted candidates will have to appear for skill test which will be notified thereafter. Online written test will be in two parts. Part-I will be Knowledge Test and will consist of 70 multiple-choice questions in respective disciplines as advertised. Part-II will be Aptitude Test and will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions on General Awareness, Quantitative aptitude & Reasoning. The duration of the test will be 2 hours. Each question carries 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer. There is qualifying marks (30% marks for ST/ PwBD candidates). |
| The Computer Based Online Written Test is proposed to be held at 04 different cities, i.e., Raipur, Bhopal, Indore & Gwalior. |
Application Fee/Exam Fee for NTPC Diploma Engineer Trainee:
| Candidates belonging to OBC-NCL category is required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs.300/-. The ST/PwBD/XSM candidates need not to pay the registration fee. Payment in Offline Mode: State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the application fee, in a specially opened account (A/C No. 30987919993) at CAG branch, New Delhi (Code: 09996), on behalf of NTPC. Candidate has to approach the nearby SBI branch with a printout of the “pay-in-slip” which is available on the application portal. The pay-in-slip printed from the portal should only be used for depositing the fee for proper crediting of amount in the allocated account. On receipt of the money, the bank will issue a unique Journal Number and a Branch Code of the bank collecting the money. This journal number and the branch code are to be filled up by the candidate during online application. Bank commission charges will be borne by the candidate. NTPC will not be responsible, in case a candidate deposits the fee in wrong account. Payment in Online Mode: Candidates also have the option to pay the fees online (through Net banking / Debit Card / Credit Card). The online payment option will be available in the online application form |
